The Rangemaster 1000

|
The Rangemaster is ready
to mount to your building, pole, or any suitable location. Once mounted, the unit is
cabled to your audio and power source using 2 pair shielded wire. You can drive the
RangeMaster AM1000 FCC certified transmitter with audio from almost any audio source.
A standard 16-volt wall transformer is included for a power source.
The Rangemaster can be modulated 130% positive and 90% negative
peak for that "BIG" station sound! We recommend the Innovonics
222 as an excellent companion to the AM1000.
A special feature of the AM1000 Rangemaster is that the units can
be synchronized together to cover a greater area. You can mount transmitters around a
shopping mall/building and link them together so they not heterodyne. |

Multiple transmitters
can cover the area you need if one transmitter won't do the job. The most common method
people are using to cover a larger area with multiple transmitters is place RangeMaster
transmitters around town and link them by Internet. When using this method there are some
important things to know. First you need to keep your audio in sync, even a few tenths of
a second delay of audio between the transmitters will cause a noticeable echo as a person
drives between transmitter zones. Second, the RF carrier is not in phase sync using this
method, the transmitters will not heterodyne (you must use the crystal controlled model)
but the PHASES of the carriers will not be synced. Normally you will have a short zone of
"flutter" as you drive between zones, not too noticeable, like driving under a
power line. However if you don't do a good job of planning transmitter locations and get
the transmitters to close together then the flutter will become worse. Do not try to use
other (PLL) type transmitters with this method, you can get into all kinds of heterodyne
problems. |

Comments From
Rangemaster Customers
 | Can easily be heard on automobile radios at 1 mile and in-home between
¼ and ½ mile. Stops on auto scan around 3/8
mile.
|
 | Built like a BRICK. Two
different lightening strikes have destroyed one of my TVs, the underground dog
fence, a telephone, an audio processor, and all of the lady-across-the-streets
computers. But the Rangemaster
keeps going, rain or shine.
|
 | The sound is bright, basey, loud and
crisp. Easily modulates 120% without
distortion or clipping.
|
 | Just to let you
know that we are very pleased with the transmitters, we have one at our house at about
28ft and range is amazing. About 1.5 miles quiet and able to listen at about 3.5 miles. it
covers the west side and down town of the town very well. It is listenable but
noises at about 4 miles. the second transmitter is in the town and it covers
the little town very well.

 | Our trusty
Rangemaster has been up and running since July 2008 and I could not be more pleased.
The transmitter case and electronics are of the highest quality and the unit was a
breeze to set up and tune. It has weathered many an Idaho storm without the
slightest complaint. The transmitter is mounted about 32 feet above ground, with a
copper ground rod and ten 20-foot ground radials. The broadcast chain consists of a
multi-band software-based compressor, an Aphex Compellor, and an Innovonics 222 processor.
It took some tweaking but the sound quality and loudness is as good or better than the
commercial stations in town. The listenable range varies from about 1 to 2 miles depending
on the amount of interference.

 | Life
may throw you a few curves........but not the Hamilton AM1000 Transmitter. It was
snowed on, rained on.........we had a wind storm......etc. It never blinked. I
hope to order another AM1000 by late summer.
